How can I purchase a home in Rainbow?

Your Questions Answered

1. Can I build my own home?
Rainbow is providing a unique home design for each of its lots and two local builders have been assigned to build these homes which will result in affordable housing with a streetscape of custom built homes.

2. How many single family homes will be available?
When finished Rainbow will have a total of 70 single family homes.  22  single family homes will be available for purchase in 2008.

3.  How many duplex homes will be available?
When complete Rainbow will have a total of 80 duplex homes.  64 duplex homes will be available for purchase in 2008.

4. How many seniors homes will be available?
When complete Rainbow will have a total of 40 senior homes. These will be available for purchase in 2009.

5. Who can buy at Rainbow?
To be eligible for purchase one of these homes you must have been qualified by the Whistler Housing Authority.

6. What are the prices?
Prices are currently in development

7. What are the average sizes of
Duplexes: 1,300 sq ft to 1,900 sq ft
Single Family Homes: 1,500 sq ft to 2,200 sq ft

8. How much parking is allocated to each home?
A minimum of 2 parking spaces have been allocated per home.

9.  Is there to be storage space in the homes?
Plans are allowing for storage up to 20m² in single family homes and 10m² in duplexes.

10. Will I be able to customise my finishings?
Plans are in process for providing a set of basic finishing specs with upgrade options.

11. Do any of the homes have suites?
All single family homes are zoned by the RMOW to allow for suites...most homes will offer easy conversion plans.
